Hi fellas. I currently own a Clio 3 with the 1.2 16v 75hp engine with a 5spd manual gearbox.
I'm soon doing a 1.2 TCe swap which should get me around 140-160hp with some mods. However, unlike my other car which is a VAG group car, I can't find much info on other mods for this car, especially since the 1.2 is rather different compared to the 197/200 in terms of suspension compatibility and whatnot.
What brake upgrade should I consider? I currently have 260mm front brakes with drum brakes in the rear. If I want to keep the 16in wheel size, is it worth going up to 290-300mm front brakes? If so, what should I look for? If not, still what should I look for? Better calipers? Just better discs & pads should suffice for ~160hp? Is there a cheap disc upgrade for the rear to get rid of the ugly drums?
Suspension! I need sportier suspension that isn't too harsh due to our pretty bad roads. I see a lot of people recommending Bilstein B14. Although quite expensive, are they a good upgrade? Are they a 'plug and play' type upgrade on the 1.2 chassis or is there any work to be done?
What other mods should I look for? Gearbox? Steering components? What kind of weight loss methods can I use to make the car lighter? What quality of life mods are there?
So many questions..
