Squeeking sound

Seems to be coming from the front right hand wheel (driver side) as far as I can tell.

172 Mk2 ph1.

Squeeks upto around 10mph then noise stops when above this speed. The squeek slows and speeds up when accelerating/de-accelerating between 0-10mph.

Anyone?

my suspension squeeks at the start of its travel on the same corner.

that doesnt help you in the slightest, but it gets it off my chest :approve:

May possibly be the same on my car as i've recently had fk coilovers put on. Only seems to have started happening after this...

What can be done about it?

It's not when going over speed bumps or anything...it's when driving on a smooth straight line down a road.

That'll be the V6 spoiler weighing it down.

LOL

It's not on yet. I've been working hard repairing it today. Nearly got it all smoothed and all scratches out, gotta finish it off, prime it & spray it etc next week. Looking good though!

Anyone got any ideas on the squeeking?

Hmm only general suggestions, maybe sticky caliper?

Not to sure about this one but; engine mount?
I know most cars are quite jumpy at low speeds so maybe extra movement in the engine area causing squeek from the mounts.

I've recently changed the front discs and pads so could be this.

I did think engine mount but I'm positive it's coming from the driver side front wheel.

Still happening after a couple of days and i've looked at the 2 front wheels. The discs on the passenger side look fine but the driver side centre part of the disc seems to be covered in brake dust I beleive. Looks like yellow/orange.

Any ideas?

Again noise only happens between 0-10mph (slows and speeds up with acceleration as wheel spins) then after 10mph you can't here it!

try taking out the pads, rough em up, clean up the caliper (properly), plenty of copper slip and refit
