Standard Seat Replacement

Anyone point me in the direction or be kind enough to write a guide on how to remove standard seats in a 1*2 and replace them again?

To remove: Undo the bolts that fix them to the runners and then unclip the wire underneath.

To replace: Do up the bolts that fix them to the runners and then re-clip the wire underneath.

take the plastic covers off the side of the seats, undo the 5 13mm's, lift the seat off........then if you want to take the runners out, jack the car up, take the rubber covers off that are under the outside runner on the underside of the car, undo the two 13mm's, then the other runner is held in with two 13mm's further under the car under the exhaust heatshield

oh unplug the pretensioner + airbag first too

the plugs underneather are a b*****d to remove without breaking them.

Aren't they just rubber grommits? They were on g/f's car when changed the passenger seat runner.

I managed to do the whole job in 10 mins as had to go out so it's not that hard as I'm useless at things like that.

Andy foxy has told you want to do - dont forget to disconnect the battery for half hour before!! also as matt says the clips attached to the seats are pants! and you will struggle to get them off - just pull - if you break them dont worry!!

How do i get the plastic covers off?

1 bolt right underneath at the back. Is it Torx?

OK i guess it will be easier to unbolt the seat first. lol.

I need the rails and pretensioners from old seats i think.

Hang on, i'm confused, are the runners attached to the car and seats attached to runners or other way around?

andy! both covers are hold on by a torx head fixing! and come of really easy - i only bothered to undo the one on the off side so i could get to the pretensioner sp - but as you say - might as well disconnet the battery - undo the bolts underneath and then by the time you have done that you wil be able to lift the seat up and disconect the cables underneath!

Nah i dont need to undo bolts underneath! Just got to take off plastic covers (which i have now done) either side and then unbolt from the runners! So that saves alot of work!

Only problem is my rents garage is a disgrace of a tip and i cant find any bloody socket sets! I am now stuck! LOL

oh i get you ! that will solve taking the seat frame out! 8mm socket iirc

I would just jack it up and remove the 4 13mm bolts underneath but to late now!

Yeh i know! Just realized that!

The seats didnt come with runners as they guy who owned them was a bit confused i think so you're going to have to use yours. Hope thats not a problem?

Whats wrong with it? I think the runner is split in two, part on the seat and part on the subframe. Really confusing! I can show you what i have once i've finished anyway.

ok bud! it just sticks sometimes. mrs complains about it but i think it aint too bad. you do make me wonder why you didnt buy a 182ff though mate?

i was going to get some of them but i dont want to go whole hog with harneses and all that! my friend has some in his saxo and where the seatbelt pulls across the wing they are starting to snag.

anyone else found this???

LOL coz at the time it was cheap and the only RB 182 i could find at the right price/condition.

I havent changed much other than seats!!! LOL
