My car is a ph1 172 parallel import and I am having the very common immobiliser fault.
My car has had a Cat 1 after market alarm fitted in the UK and I presume that the car has a Cat 2 immobiliser on it as standard from Renault.
So my questions are:
Do parallel imports come with a Cat 2 immobiliser?
If they do would I still have to replace the key at Renault because it will need to be coded to the pre-fitted Cat 2 immobiliser or can I buy a blank key and get it coded by an auto electrician to the aftermarket Cat 1 that has been fitted to the car?
Any help/advice would be much appreciated!
