starting problems

  clio 1.4RT
hi, basically the problem is......

If my car is stood over night it has alot of problems starting up. However once its started up and run it will start up as many times as you like, even if you leave it for an hour. It just doesnt like starting up from being left over night.

The car is a 1998 1.4 rt clio.

ive changed the plugs and it hasnt altered anything.

HELP PLEASE

I personally use a few tank of V power (or same grade) and it is much much better at starting. You may try a few tank to see.

Also, I will half turn the key, until most of the dash-light gone, then start. Or turn half, off, turn half, light off and start.

its turning over great just when its stone cold like first thing in the morning it doesnt like to start at all...takes quite a few attempts to get her going, but after the initial start she is fine all day!!!

also whywould v-max help her starting???

  Skoda Fabia vRS
TDC sensor is on the top of the gearbox

Coolant temp sensor IIRC is on the N/S of the engine, it has a white connector usually

it could also be a poor ignition coil

I did have the similar problem before. The only thing I changed is battery even it is not flat, but I want to solve the problem on the trip milage counter (mine back to zero everytime I start up the car). I did got the TDC sensor but never fitted it.

I had used V-max (or same grade, also, we call it V-Power in HK) for 3 months. Starting is not a problem anymore. It helps on ignition. Also, use the method I mentioned about - turn the key until most of the dash light are gone, turn off, so the same and start up the car. I also tried not to turn all the way to the end, just past the start up point is fine. Sorry my my Eng if you don't understand.
