Stupid heat shield question

I'm sick of my rattling heat shield , hae tried to fix them but they are stupid ! Lol ... Can I just take them off , if so does it make much difference ?

If they weren't needed they wouldn't of been put on. Imo.

Stick it with dinitrol that might sort it.

If it's close to the engine then I would leave it on. If it's the one by the back box I personally would rip it off

Well you don't need a lot of stuff that they put on a car to be honest , they are a pain in the arse , the metal is wafer thin so that it will rust ..... Just. Wondered If it's worth messing around with or just remove all together

It's the centre section part that's next to the back box one ... The fixing points are goosed so it will always rattle

Exactly what's happened to mine, getting to the point where I just want to rip it off.

I took mine off quite a while ago (the large rear section) as the rattle was driving me nuts. I hope it's not dangerous to drive without it!!

My old 182 never had one on. Best way to fix it is to use oversized washers

Just rip it off. If you worried about it go get some that sticky back heat shield

I solved mine rattling by putting plastic washers under each bolt.and pulling a bigger metal washer on the ones that has rushed through the heat shield.. it did get on my nervous when you revved the engine.

Ha ... Just realised that it's the exhaust rubbing on the spring lol lots ..... Oops
