I'd guess by removing the strips that run above and down the side of the windscreen would help massively,
as then you can tuck or roughly cut the vinyl.
Use a credit card or something of the like.
Then just put the strips back into place, prior to that a statutory clean of the windscreen would be in order
Get yourself a squirty/spray bottle, fill it with soapy water.
Then you can spray it on the screen while you line up the top tint, when using your squeegee or credit card you can work the water out from underneath it as it will be a little more manipulative this way, and helps to remove the air bubbles.
