Swissvax BOS

  Golf 7.5R & Clio 200
Hi,

I'm going to order a new pot of this in the coming weeks, as I'm getting some amazon vouchers from work. I would like to free up some cash from it aswell though, so would either use and then sell it on (May take a sample for myself for later too) or I could sell some 30ml samples of it if anyone was interested.

Just a quickie to see which people would advise to do? Would be nice to sample it out as not a lot of people will spend £200 odd on a wax, but then I'm not sure if it's easier/more sensible to sell as a whole pot (If I could get someone interested).

Which would you say makes sense? And anyone interested?

(Reason for buying is I want to try it for myself, but would never spend £195.00 on a wax, thats mad. Perfect oppertunity)

Also, think I'll apply this by hand!

I'd be up for buying a 20-50 ml sample off you. The pot would have to be right though!

I'll have a look at pots and send some links as suggestions?

Epic Multi-Quote coming up..

Ampulla for the pots. Decent sealed pots that aren't too expensive. Are you still on for Friday night as I'll bring the sample with me in one of their pots.

http://www.ampulla.co.uk/COSMETIC-JARS/c-1-155/

My little pots are just normal metal ones, will pop pics up in a min to see if you think they're good enough. If not I have the waxybox pots if they're better. I could buy some more if not, wouldn't want to ruin a wax this expensive.

And yeah still meeting on Friday :)

Buy Shield. ;)

As I'm essentially getting it for free, would you still recommend Sheild?

I'll take a sample of anything Swissvax if you split it.

Will make sure I let you know then lol

As gally mentioned by shield as u get the gloss & much better durability for £80 less

Surely if its better durability and better looking, BOS would be the cheaper option?

I may be interested in a small sample Ry, would be happy to post out a little pot I got from Waxybox last year?

I have a few pots already, thanks though, but will let you know what they come up for sale.

I considered Zymol Concours, but am semi set on BOS partly because I know I will never buy a pot with money, Sheild and the Zymol are cheaper.

Im still up for it but the pot is everything to me with it, I'd rather not use a metal pot and don't mind buying a pot and sending it your way to be filled?

I have had a look at Daves link above, if everyone is agreeable, I will purchase some of those and add whatever the pot cost is ontop of the wax. With 200ML of wax for £200, it's 1ml per £1.00 I guess, so a 20ml sample pot will be £20 + Pot + Postage

Or if you do have an uber snazzy pot You can post and I'll fill and return, I'm easy

I'm happy with the pot selection from Dave and I'd ideally be looking at a 30ml sample if you wouldn't mind?

Cheers Ry but I've just spanked £££££ on the Panzer today in power and braking mods, so not sure a wax is going to get past the bank of boss lol!

Thanks for the offer but a show wax would last week's on my cars, if that. Plus the paint really isn't up to the quality of benefiting from such a wax

Buy Shield mate unless everyone really wants BOS. Even if it's "free".

What makes you say this? I have no experience with either so don't really know the pro's and cons inside out, what are your reasons for favouring Sheild?

Looks are identical but u gain durability with shield

Indeed they don't list it. I'd be emailing them and get them to add a listing.

Explain you have vouchers and would like to buy direct from Swissvax. Their service is very good.

Bunch of poofs. Driven not detailed, y0! For £200 you could get half a cambelt change RyG! Or most of an oil/filter/pick up pipe change! Or... wait... :(

I's say get shield. BoS does look a little bit better imo, especially layered but it's full of oils hence the slicker look. Show it a bit of rain and it's duller than shield.

I don't know many garages that accept amazon vouchers! :( If only..

As the general consensus is against BOS..

next question, Sheild or Zymol Concours?

Have you used either before? I'd go with what I haven't used personally.

Nope, if Im honest I'm basing this purely on brand/price. Whilst I have the opportunity, I want to as I'd never spend the cash on it. S'why I'm asking for lots of opinions/help

I current own/use, Temptation, Passion, Illusion, small amount of Carbon and soon to be sample of Spirit. So nothing of this price tag

Like Glasur is a slight step up from carbon, concours is another step up in all aspects. Even durability isn't that bad.

I guess shield and BOS have got a similar oily feel to Illusion and just feels that bit special when applying.

I've always wanted to own BOS, I'm a sucker for show wax, and I've always admired shield, but never spent more than Glasur. And I thought desire just feels, fine, but so synthesised and cheap.

Granted they are all reasonably mass produced commodities, but desire just felt so cold.

And where Illusion is concerned, it's lovely but for the life of me I can't figure out why you wouldn't buy Bouncers CTR and keep some cash! It at the very least matches illusion IMO!

What is desire like to buff?

  Golf GT & A4 Avant
As easy as all the others bar illusion. Get the application and cure time right and they only need a light buff to remove
