T Mobile

Any good?

I'm thinking of leaving o2 who I've been with for a good 7 or so years. It's not like I get anything for being a loyal customer and just recently texts have been taking hours, if I actually get them, and sending has been ropey.

I like the look of the Flex price plans as I'd get loads more for less than I pay on o2.

Good/bad things about T Mobile?

Never mind. Just requested a PAC code ready and Karen at o2 did me a decent enough deal, and I can get the 6280 with a free headset when they get it on the 17th.

Flext contracts look awesome at the moment, unfortunately i can't request my PAC from O2 until May 2nd by which point the 25% off offer on Flext will have stopped i bet.

What deal did O2 sort you when you threatened to leave? Did they match the Flext tariff?

They didn't quite match it, but it was good enough for me. £35 250 minutes and 500 texts. I could have got another couple of hundred minutes on T Mobile. It's better the devil you know for me really.

i phoned up o2 when my contract ran out and said what can you offer me.

the bloke on the phone gave me 300mins and 250 texts for £20/month! i didnt even have to negotiate... he just gave me it all right away!

oh and a (then) new nokia 6230 was thrown in too

Lee you should have pushed them harder as they can offer far more than that. I'm currently on 750 anytime xnet minutes and 400 texts for £25 per month with o2 online. I also got a free phone included.

I'm up for renewal again and they've told me they can better my current deal if I'll stay with them.

I know of people who managed to get the same tariff as me for £20 per month with a free phone on a 12 month contract.

For now they've just swapped my tarrif. I'm currently out of contract so I'll push for more at the end of the month when I'm looking for a new handset.

I'm stuck on o2 business so I don't get as good tarrifs as the o2 online ones, plus I'm an existing customer so get screwed.

The tarrif is called 'O2 Discount 750' and comes with a free 400 Message Bolt-On. Usual cost £35 but I managed to get a £10 discount by saying I was not willing to spend more than £25 per month. Tell them you have a friend on this tariff and if they can't match this for you then you'll leave for T-Mobile Flext 35 which is currently £26.25.

This tarrif is only available from o2 Retentions when requesting a PAC code to leave.

Nice one sneeks. I've got the direct number of the girl in retentions I dealt with earlier, so I'll call her back at the end of the month and try that one.

I'm now out of contract and will be phoning them as soon as I decide which phone I want to get next. They've already mentioned to me that they will be able to offer me a tarrif which works in the same way as Flext but will be better value. She mentioned £25 per month for £220 credit in comparison to T-Mobile's £26.25 p/month and £180 credit.

Hm all good information, currently im on the O2 200min + 150 text @ £30, but if they don't put me on that O2 750 tariff then i'll just tell them i'll be going to t-mobile and leave.

Having said that i also want a new N80/N91 which might decrease my bargaining power? :(

Not at all. Lie and say you've been offered either of those phones for free from CPW or P4U and they'll not really be able to argue. These outlets are not restricted to which phones they can sell you in the same way that T-Mobile will be. It's one of those phones I'll be asking for so I'll let you know how I get on.

orange are bringing out tarriffs to rival the flext ones from next month

freind at work switched from orange to a flext yesterday, and girl on the phone reckons they are loosing so many customers to t-mobile at the moment

If they are any good at their job they'll know what other networks will offer to a degree. I once tried that when the S700 came out, no network gave it free unless you took a £70 per month tarrif, and she knew that!

My mum was on that tariff last year and I told her to phone and ask for her PAC. I told her a couple of made up offers to tell them she'd seen elsewhere and she's now on 300 anytime xnet mins and 100 texts for £15 p/month which suits her perfectly. She also received a free upgrade phone.

Most of the retail shops will offer you phones which should be silly prices for free or at worst for a stupidly cheap price. You only need to say that you've been offered this and they usually accept it. Always works for me :)

I found 02 very good when I asked for my PAC code.
Now works out I pay £10 a month for 100 anytime minutes and 500 txt or something stupid like that (never use them much). Also as I agreed to stay for another year so they have me £100 credit so I'm only paying £1.67 a month line rental realy which is a bargin.
