Kiss my face! or should it be, kiss my exhaust!!? because after you decided to rush up behind me when that car was in front and it moved away, how many car lengths did i put between us? its so pleasing to watch exotica disappear in your rear view! admittingly, they are only 120 bhp 1.8s. Still toasted ya! teehee and i had just filled up with a full tank! must have been because id just waxxed her.

Nice racin with friendly flashing and a wave. Good race dude! whoever you were.....

I find that too - the more my car is cared for, the faster it goes...and 16vs dont come much cleaner than mine!;)

I think its the lack of friction wax gives at high speeds. Im pretty confident i could crack 150 with 2 coats of wax on.... although acceleration is forfitted due to the extra weight

dont spose you can recommend any thing better than wonder wheels to clean my alloys with? i took one of them off to clean inside and couldnt shift this greasy crud. Where i used to work they had (sorry about grammar) some very strong wheel acid but ive no idea what it was called.

surely it must make some difference, maybe 5 mph top end? you can feel how much more smoother the paint work is. Tomorrow im going to try and fold my wing mirrors in, good for another 10 mph i reckon top end...;)

but we all know a textued surface has boundary layers which create a layer of air almost nill velocity. And for this reason it should actually be more efficient if there is dirt on it ;).

One of the reasons fighter places still have rivet heads popping up on the body and wing.

I know what you mean. Its probably cos its looking good and you just know its goin faster hehe. You never see a dirty racing car though do you ;). there is def something do do with drag involved but the amount of speed gained could never be noticed lol.

Ever noticed that your car always seems to go wrong when its dirty too?

but, thats why they purposefully make the paint so thin on the fronts of the clio as it stone chips easily, creating automatic rivet heads. An ingenious design i think.

that would be concave, not convex.......you would nthen get shperical swirl zones.

hmmm.....i would need to investigate, but it would seemt hat the flys limbs and wings, although splatted (technical term) would create a large amount of drag.

Racing cars are usually clean. A rally aint a race though is it. On a bumpy track it wouldn;t make any difference. On a nice smooth road maybe. You might get an extra 1mph lol. I have read it somewhere that it makes a slight difference! Cant remember where though

ive raced one off the lights, he got away first (traction etc) then i clawed him in and overtook. Looked over and he was staring dead ahead. 2nd one was on a dual carriage way, he was actually racing a Focus and came up behind me, i thought - lets join them! we both dispatched the focus and i creeped past the elise at around !20 ish, and the third was yesterday. Theyre about as fast as that WRX y-reg estate i beat ages ago.
