Tamron lenses?

There is a Tanmron 28-75 f2.8 macro going for about £220, never used Tamron before... are they any good?

I have a 70-300mm Tamron lens for my Canon, not a bad bit of kit TBH.

hmm.. its very tempting for the constant f2.8, plus it would make ideal walkaround!

I use that lens for a lot of portrait and gig work, it's nice and sharp.

Bear in mind that 28mm will not be that wide on a crop. A couple of mm on the wide end makes a large difference! I used to use 24mm and regularly had to stick on the 12-24.

Yeah, I will have to get a wide angle too... I was also looking at the 17-50, but I use 75 more than 17. Tough choices to be made lol

I have a 17-50 tammy, terrible build quality but makes up for it in IQ.

17-50 is on par with the much more expensive nikon 17-55 2.8 DX.

What does the 3:1 mean on a lens? :S

I might be selling my Sigma 24-70 2.8 in a few weeks, Ill let you know a price if i do decide to.

Tiz a great lens, I just dont use it enough to keep it.

I think I could haggle the price of the Tamron to near the £200 mark, seems a goo dprice compared to new!
