thanks for finding time to meet and confirm the banging noise is the same as you had. fingers crossed i can get renault to fix it and get back to driving over 5k now i know what it is.

a loose engine mount that renault can not find meaning every time i accelerate quite hard (or in the wet) sounds like my engine is banging to get out the bonnet.

its been going on for months and my car has spent 2 days at reno for them not to find the problem, its driving me mad.

however now i can confirm it is the mount and get them to sort it out, finger crossed.

Renault are sh*t. My dads clio....1.4 dci Y reg....has had 3 engins in it now....the first the oil sill went, the second lasted 10 minites in the car, and the third now occassionly just wont start, it wont even turn ova!!!

It fcuking happened to me last nite, when i borrowing the car of him while hes away! bl00dy thing!

Renault cant find anything wrong with it!!! Like WTF!!!!

i said it was the mount a million times!

i also said we tightened it came off the boat from the facotry........

Hi mate did you ring SMC Woking. They seem to be clued up on how to fix it....Mount under the battery i guess is the offending item. Hope you get it sorted soon. I know how you feel...

im trying the reno dealer in aldershot next weds, then if i still have no luck i might move onto smc or try the place where will got his fixed in liphook.
