Canon 7D + Battery Grip
Canon 10 - 22 F3.5 - 4.5
Canon 24 - 70 F2.8
Canon 70 - 200 F4 IS
Canon 50 F1.8
Samyang 8MM Fish Eye
Canon 430EX II + Stofen
Hanhel Giga T Pro
2 spare batteries
Compact flash cards
Sync cord
16 Energizer 2450mAh rechargables

and it all fits in a Think Tank Retrospective 20. Couldn't find my softbox and tripod they've gone walkabouts annoyingly... Puts me right up s**t creek for tomorrow but oh well.

I always like to see what people have got. The only downside is that it always ends up giving me ideas about what I am missing and then I end up shopping. :(

Sam, can you get the 70-200 in the Thinktank when it is fitted on the 7D? I need a new bag which fits a 70-200 & body together, as mine is not really up to it.

Fits fine with the hood reversed, even the 2.8's fit fine. I think its a fantastic bag, looks nothing like a camera bag as well so I feel fine carrying it anywhere.

I liked the look of it for the lowprofile. I have a Domke at the minute which is a great low key shoulder bag, but if I want to use it with my 70-200, I have to take out all the padding and leave the 24-105 loose inside. I need a new bag soon. I also have a backpack, but it is ridiculously large for daily use.

  2.2 bar shed.
Yeah, it comes with so many dividers and its got a joke amount of pockets. Cant recommend it enough, the 10 isnt as deep as the 20, and the 30 is just wider than the 20.

  Cupra
Then I think I've found the domke replacement! Cheers!

Brazo, do you have to use an adaptor or do they fit the Sony mount?

All via adapters, only 3 native e mount lenses at the moment (4 more next week mind!) but its nice being able to use any old lens via adapter.

There is an e mount 24mm zeiss prime will be officially announced next week and out in October. I would like one but prices expected to be $1000 so...

This is it pictured on the Sony NEX 7

zeiss.jpg

The NEX 7 looks like it could be something quite special, not going to buy a camera until these announcements now!

What are the rumoured lenses, any pancake primes?

Finally managed to track down an old photo of my kit:

Toys by .monk3y, on Flickr

Canon 5D MkII
Canon 24-105f4L IS
Canon 70-200f2.8L IS MkII
Canon 430EX Flash
B&W ND10/ Keissman CPL/UV filters
Hanhel Giga T ProII
Blazzeo wireless triggers
Cactus wireless triggers
Sekonic 308 Light meter
Elinchrom FX400 x 3
Elinchrom modifiers (white & reflective umbrellas) & 60cm softbox
Tronix Explorer XT - portable power unit for the flashes
Manfrotto 055xprob tripod
Redged monopod
Backdrop stands & wall mounts (Falcon Eyes)
Various colour backdrops 3x15m
Burton Zoom backpack
Domke F6 shoulder bag
Lots of batteries, memory cards, blowers, lenspens, microfibre cloths and wet wipes.

The only things still on my list are a 16-35f2.8, an 85mm prime, the 580EXII, a 5DIII and the endless debate on whether to swap the 24-105 for a 24-70.

Nex 7 should be very special, a poor man's leica m9! It shares the new 24 mp Sony sensor with the a77, specs all over web. I doubt there is an slr out there, bar the a77 that will match the iq of the nex7 with decent glass but given its a rangefinder style camera it won't be suitable for slr type stuff like motorsport and wildlife. I'm going to have a hard job choosing between this, a77 and pent k5!

No additional pancakes but a 24, 50, 30 and 55-210

  Cupra
It will be an APS-C sensor still though won't it? Full frame sensors from Nikon and Canon should still be able to trump the IQ I guess?

Perhaps I should have said crop sensors, yes! Although truth be told I don't know how it all works as crop sensored cameras like pentax k5 and even nikon5100 get better dxo scores than ff cameras?

  Cupra
I honestly have no idea about DXO scores. I don't think that they can be related to overall image quality though as the cameras punching above the Hasselblads and other Medium format sensors shouldn't be in that case AFAIK.

Camera technology is moving on at an amazing rate though, and it can only be a good thing for consumers! Can't wait to see where we are in a couple of years.

Shame about the lack of pancake lenses. Sony have one of the smallest interchangeable lens cameras with the best sensor but no lenses to complete the small package.

On topic, my kits not changed in years, taken in 2008!

As far as I can tell medium format, ff has the advantage it can be blown up much bigger than crop without a loss of image quality but pixel for pixel the newer sensors are better. For example if you cropped a medium format sensor to aps-c size it wouldn't match a newer crop sensor on iq. Of course you don't crop a medium format sensor so the argument is somewhat irrelevant!

But yes exciting times ahead. Blue Pete there is a 16mm pancake, that is all though.

  2.2 bar shed.
Added another 430EXII and a Pocket Wizard Flex system. Was split between this and some 100mm filters, but these are more useful in my paid work so I made the sensible choice :(

Here's my new kit, just missing the Olympus 45mm 1.8 and 12mm f2 which should both be here soon hopefully...

i-LWNZqm6-M.jpg

  • Panasonic G3
  • Olympus E-PL2 (with a lovely Gordy wrist strap)
  • Panasonic 100-300mm f4-5.6
  • Panasonic 14mm f2.5
  • Panasonic 20mm f1.7
  • Samyang 7.5mm f3.5 Fisheye
  • Holga Ultimate 25mm f8 (+ Macro, Close-Up, Telephoto and Wide Angle Kit)

It all (+ Gorillapod) comfortably fits in my Crumpler shoulder bag which used to (just about) hold a Nikon D90, 12-24mm f4 and Sigma 50-150mm 2.8

some seriously nice kit in here!! [/jealous]

I'm very basic atm...

450D
Canon nifty fifty
18-55 kit lens
Joby Gorilla pod
Random Tripod

Really want a 10-20 and a 70-200 and an 85 prime but can't bring myself to spend savings on them!!

That 100-300 is madness! 600mm equivalent... immense! Is it very front heavy on the G3?

I was very worried about that when I ordered, but it's fine. Cracking lens actually, nice and sharp as long as you appreciate just how long 600mm is and shoot accordingly.
