Alright guys. The 225 was up for sale not so long ago, but I changed my mind for several reasons (Potential buyers know why), and I just can't do it... (Lose boost and fair handling? pfft...
Anyway..
Not so long ago, I was offered a potentially well paid job out of pure luck - Helping out to run a garage/business. Starting off on a basic wage in the motor industry again
Very happy about it as I've been having rubbish work since I left my mechanical engineering apprenticeship in 2007.
But anyway, I noticed that I caring for the 225 was very minimal, I didn't really care much for it anymore. Now that has changed, I still haven't cleaned it but I've done numerous maintainance things to the engine to bring her back to life - ie, oil change, changing clips to Aston Martin DB9 clips (Lots of broken French clips..) etc..
----
Along with giving the engine bay/exhaust system some love, I started off deoxidising the intercooler and removing the sidelights (I hate sidelights);
Bumper off
-Before;
-After;
Along with this, suspension was cleaned and greased.
Yesterday, the brakes we refurbed as they looked tacky as f**k;
-Before;
-Brake anchors removed, filed, and cleaned with a wire brush, brake cleaner, some weird spirit stuff that my boss gave me and filed. In the vice ready..;
-Above [After]. Below [Before]
Yes, the change looks minimal on the camera but we got rid of most of the garbage;
-Finished anchors;
-Calipers painted [This is nasty stuff...]
After the disaster of the first coat, it was redone and it was perfect
Pics don't do it justice what so ever. I didn't fancy getting the DSLR whilst my hands were greasy, so I use the iPhone instead.
After all the paint had dried, we removed the masking tape from the odd bolts and this is how she stands now;
Next up, BREMBO decals on the brakes to finish it off.
After the BREMBO decals are on, it's time for cam belt change and brake and disk upgrade :sweatdrop:
I'll update this thread when more work is done..
