To HPI check or not.

  Shhh

I bought the car ages ago, upon looking under the bonnet there is blue paint on some of the hoses which leads me to believe its had some RH front corner paintwork, not like you can notice.

Ive had the car now 5 weeks, bought from a Renault Dealer, so was wondering if it was worth getting it checked, or could i just ask them for a copy. I think its ideal for selling it on privately, but should i get it done.?

If so, anyone know of anywhere that is pretty good.?

chap they all have blobs of paint on the engine bits, dont know why they do it but my 182 has it and my cup had it before, but you can get an hpi done, pm me may be able to help with the hpi

id do a HPI check on any car i was buying if i bought a second hand one. well worth paying £10 just for the piece of mind ;) and lets face it £10 is nothing when your spending 10k on a car.

My 172 has spots of paint on the engine too. Its common to see them on re-built engines - and its probably part of the assembly process to mark them.

a hpi check is more like £40.00 mate !!!
not a tenner (unless you can get them done cheap)
well even £40 its still worth paying, i did one a few years back when my girlfriend bought a second hand car, im sure it wasnt more than about 13 quid.

IIRC the dealer is by law required to carry out an HPI check upon recieving the car in the first place, and no its not to late to get it HPId yourself just for piece of mind sake. And if it does indeed turn up anything, you can in fact take it back to the dealer and demand your money back.
