Toad Alarms

They fitted mine last year. Id had the 172 for 1 day, and the fitter opened the drivers door into the wall and chipped it !!

It took them 3 days to fit it, and there wasnt enough room in the engine compartment for the standard siren. They left wire cuttings everywhere, and I had smoke coming out of the steering wheel, once theyd finished.

Ive had no problems with the alarm since, and it interacts with the central locking no problem.

They did send me a nice cheque for £275 for getting the door resprayed, so ChipsAway are now £30 richer !!

i own a AI606 and have had no issues at all.. in fact everyone i know that has a TOAD has only issued good feedback about um. Horace evidently the fitter was a poor example, sorry to hear that.

Now ask people with cliffords about there alarm, 75% will say "yeah there good" The other 25% will suggest its a pain in the ass. most dealers dont deal clifford for this reason.

I upgraded to the Toad A850 and it works with the std immobiliser and central locking!! Aslo had the tilt sesnor fitted all for £300!

Had no problems with it at all! Great system!

yeah, youre right. The alarm is a good piece of kit, though. Its the same as rockports, i.e., AI606.

Cost £320 for fitting, and they gave me £275 back for the door ! The main siren (too big for engine compartment) is now in the passenger compartment, under the glove box, and TOAD fitted me a much smaller one in the engine compartment.

So, if someone does try nicking it, theyll need ear defenders in the bleedin car. lol

Quality peice of kit had mine fitted yesterday, CAT 1, loads of my mates have um too, no probs, quality options like interior lights fade etc.

dont think you can go wrong mate......i had an AI606 on my pug 406 for the 3 years that i owned it.......never had any problems........id say with clifford your paying for the name !! Although they are good alarms ive heard.

look in the comic mags...(max power etc)..you should get either some prices or addresses of web sites that you can compare prices with.......i think sextons own toad alarms ??.

Well to put a bit of a downer on this post i have an A1606 and the siren already went once, it just didnt make any noise and now the poxy thing sounds loud when armed but if the alarm goes off it tends to be quite low. My mate who fitted it, is as about reliable as a wet paper bag, i will have to write to TOAD.

Clifford are feckin pants. Had one fitted on my AX GT and was crap. Also loadsa people have slatted them. Toad seem a good choice, dont think you can go wrong. I also had a Meta alarm and immob fitted to both my Nova SR and my Fiesta Si and cant fault it at all. That was a Cat 1 and cost something like £185 fitted.
