Anyone ever towed anything with there Clio?

Today i towed a Clio with my Clio. I was suprised how easy it towed to be honest, i was expecting it to struggle more, hardly knew it was there!

They're not type approved. It's illegal to tow with one

That's irrelevant if none of them are rated for towing.

Even if they were, its not an insurmountable problem.

I spotted a 172 towing a jetski locally a couple of years ago, may not be legal but can certainly be done.

Mate has fitted a Towbar to his 182.
It's supplied as a 182 Towbar (not as just a lesser model and doesn't fit sports) although same fitment for all as far as I know.
Tows a biggish builders trailer with it no problem.
Bought it because he was fed up driving around in a transit connect and can do what he needs with the trailer and with more comfort and speed.

^Illegal to tow with a sport, none of them are allowed to tow. You can tell this by looking at th VIN plate on the drivers door pillar, top weight is total vehicle weight, then the weight under that is total Train weight, if both are the same, or second is missing, it can't tow. Theres loads of normal cars that can't Tow, Most Mini's, Passat CC, Mondeo ST220 etc.

You can fit a towbar for a cycle carrier, if theres a bar that fits, but if used for a trailer it invalidate your insurance and be illegal.

I towed (with a rope) a 172 with my DCi when it was still putting out 65hp, wasn't too bad at all!
