Toxic Emissions light

Done a search, came bact with 3 faults in general.

Lambda Sensor

Coil Pack

CAT

It was fine at 2PM when I went to work, came home at 6 and noticed this light was on (not flashing)

'Tested' the coil pack by removing each of the cables......3/4 made the revs drop noticeably.....1 seemed do - but its not definitive.

Whats the more likely?

Going Scotland on Friday / Saturday, will it go bang if I drive 700 miles on it?

mines on all the time! previous owner! said it's done that since its had a sports CAT on! it was on when he had it too!
iv been driving it for nealy five months hasn't gone bang yet!! :s

  FF cupped Arctic 182
I had the same fault code when i first got my 182 it happened twice the first time it cleared up on it's own, the second time the dealers cleared the codes and then told me there was nothing wrong - I made them swap the coil pack though as i said to them it's a common fault or so i heard and *touch wood* had no problems since.

I know nothing about cars mechanically the AA man (v helpful and patient and happy to explain) also mentioned a throttle potentiometer (sp) . But like i say swapping the coil pack seems to have done the trick with mine.

hope i have been a little help :)

Ive been driving with my light on for most the year lol

It was triggered by my sports cat and now stays on because my 2nd sensor is squashed.

Dont know what your prob is mate but if its either the cat or sensor you could drive for ever without going bang.

Drove 30 miles to the specialist, went in - he said 'Ill take a look'

Turned on the ignition.....light gone :S

He hooked up a scanner and it came up with 2 previous faults.

Both

L2 xxxxx Sensor (not Lambda)

He referred to it as a pinking sensor, basically I used crap fuel.
