Toyo r888's illegal for road use?

There was talks about making the r888's illegal for road use last year just wondering if anyone knows if this law has been enforced yet? I wanna get a set on my cup....

I've heard about the possibility of them being banned in road-going classes at hillclimbs and sprints (hopefully not gonna happen), but never heard of them becoming non-road legal.

The OP is correct. A while back there was talk that semi slick tyres may one day become illegal to use on public roads.

I only read it somewhere so I don't know the ins and outs. IIRC it's to do with them having to be E marked or something, I didn't take much notice as I'm not into them. Don't quote me, I don't know anything more about it, maybe a Google might find more.
 
Don't know about R888's. I'm on about other things really, ITV (MOT) over here is a nightmare. Even if something 'aftermarket' is E marked they won't let it pass through the ITV.

Yeah have heard from a few people about them being made illegal for road use.. Searched on google too and has been mentioned various times
