dont mean to pick holes or upset you but you do know that the "at the fly" figure is made up dont you? the rolling road places pic a loss percentage for the trans and then add it to the wheel figure to give a at the fly... at the wheels is what you want to look at its the only reliable figure...

tbf all you need is breathing mods on a vts to get that figure. Enclosed induction kit and exhaust will see 130bhp easy.

did i question that? he has posted at the fly figure, not at the wheel figure... as i explained at the fly is a made up figure... they will make up a number (normally 18%) and add that on to the at the wheel figure to give a "at the fly bhp" i bet if he has a at the wheel figure and you take 18% off of the at the fly figure it works out to be the at the wheel figure he got!

The figures from Surrey Rolling Road are reliable and definitely don't over read.

Nice skip Matt ;)

DID I SAY THAT THEY OVER READ?!

do any of you know anything about rolling roads??? the wheels drive the rollers which register a torque and bhp figure.

this is then fed in to a computer that is configured to know what rpm the engine is at to give a graph, the operator of the rolling road puts in a % for transmission loss... the only way to work out a true trans loss is to run the car on a rolling road and then remove the engine and run it on an engine dyno you can then work out the amount of loss the trans makes.

as rolling road days DONT do that, they pick a number that MOST rolling road places all seem to use, for a fwd car they NORMALLY use 18% however its a very vague figure as it could be anywhere up to 90% loss i guess if a clutch is slipping etc... once the car has ran on the rollers they then add the trans loss to give a "at the fly figure" which is why MOST rolling road places give 2 figures an AT THE WHEELS figure and a AT THE FLY figure! the at the fly figure unless the engine is removed has a very VAGUE figure added to the at the wheels figure to get the at the fly figure...

not at one point in this post was i questioning the car or the rolling road, i was just saying that the "at the fly" figure isnt actually a properly calculated figure! its a guess on top of the wheel figure...

NOBODY that is serious about tuning will take a blind bit of notice of the at the fly figure, and MOST big tuning companies will only provide an at the wheels figure, the at the fly figures are what gets given at rolling road days so people can go down the pub and talk about how much power they have!

Lol. Stop being a grumpy troll. Don't think anyone gives a f**k about rr reliability.

At least a RR day lets you compare your car against others, if it's true what you're saying surely every car will over-read by the same amount?

god lol i wasnt questioning the car or the rolling road i was just stating, that the at the fly figure is wrong... people concentrate on that as its the higher figure... if 2 cars came up against each other in a drag, both saying 130bhp, one is saying 130 at the wheels and the other at the fly, the one that is claiming 130 at the fly will be sorely shown up...

im not saying his car is bad, im not saying the rr is wrong, im not f**king trolling lol! i was just making him aware that the at the wheels figure is what he should be using as his power figure and the at the fly figures are pub i can piss higher than you talk!
