trip computer problem

the computer on my phase 1 172 resets if the engine is turned off for longer than hour or 2! i dont fink this is normal so wot cud the problem be

but basically, your battery is dying. MIne did exactly the same for a while, starting first time every time, and then went to start it one day, and nothing. New battery put in, no trip resetting, perfect. Don't even bother charging it.
