Unplugging airbag

Had the seat out of a mk2 clio earlier and got a bit stuck with the airbag connector, it looks as if it should just pull and split into 2. But after 15 minutes of a lot of pulling and grunting it still remained as one. Am i missing some sort of trick? just what bits do you have to push in etc. to get it apart?

Pull back the outer sleeve in the direction away from the belt holder.
