My job involves me driving to lots of different locations throughout the day across Essex, so last year I bought a Tom Tom One. However, I recently saw on here that Tom Tom had updated the Maps and were doing them at a discount (20% IIRC).
I had seen all of the new range of Tom Tom's across the shops and suspected strongly I would have to buy a new one to be honest.
So I Downloaded the Tom Tom Home software and then took a bit of a risk and downloaded the map for Great Britain and Western Europe at a price of I believe about £33.
Map 47.96 EURO
As I predicted, the Tom Tom wouldn't accept the new map as there was not room on the memory card. I I trawled Ebuyer for a cheap SD Card. In the end I bought a Kington 1GB SD card for £13.00 off Ebay. You need one with a half decent read speed I think so the map can update with your position whilst driving.
I then shoved the SD Card blank into the Tom Tom One. Linked it to my PC and activated Tom Tom home. Across went some updated software and the new maps.
I then visited the website below:

and downloaded the database of speed cameras onto the Tom Tom after paying about £2.00. I've set them up as Points of Interest with proximity alerts if they are on my route. All the instructions can be found on that site above.
All appears to be working fine, so I saved myself about £150-200 and kept the older Tom Tom which is perfectly useable.
Oh and thanks to Has for advice.
