V6 5 secs 0-60

  Clio v6

Mk2 V6

Want to get it to 5 secs 0-60 and 165 mph.

What needs doing?

No NOS or ugly pipes sticking up everywhere.

Ideas please.

Just a few spelling mistakes

Throttle Bodies.

Look brilliant, sound brilliant.

Ben R will also tell you you will need head work and cams as well.

Think he was quoting around the 300 hp mark.

  300bhp MR2 Turbo

What they do standard ?

5.7 isnt it?

Would have thought the usual mods of exhaust(s) de-cat(s) and chip would bring it down a bit.

NOS doesnt have to have ugly pipe work, can be done quite stealth with the right imagination!

replace it with a VW Toureg V10 Superchipped diesel

this superchipped 2.5 Ton monster does 0-60 in 6.0!!

with only around 1500 KG Clio to shift? daft idea I know!

Look at what the clio trophy v6 uses. Think its around the 285bhp area.

But i am sure a re-worked exhaust system, viper evo and a good mapping would improve things nicely.

just drop a Formula 1 engine in it

( dont you just love it when people casually say "drop and engine in" something, as if its really that easy and everyone is perfectly capable of doing it, and the only ones who havnt "dropped a new engine in" are the ones who havnt thought of the idea yet )

Yes but can I pick it up next Friday when its all done. ( and dont have to go back every week ) ;)

im trying to track down the name of the fella with a supercharged V6, but i cant remember his name. He might be able to put you in touch with the company he used, he chases ferraris down in it and has people to prove it!

best bet id say inlet system plenum tb etc off trophy car or another race series

give head to ben to tinker with and cams oh and bigger fuel pump just in case

talk to Rene at moteur-huger in Le Mans. He will do you a straight swap for a 300+ bhp V6 if your current engine doesnt have too many miles. Itll only cost you £5k or so. tell him I sent you ...

  Forester Sti, SC Clio V6,

easy - change the gearbox - gear for 45 in first and 135 in top and put the other ratios in with about 1200 down to 800 rpm drop as you go up the box - go sequential and try and remember the last time you needed to go 165 to catch something up.

DJM will do an evo box modified for about £7,000 and youll still pass your MOT

  Clio v6

Mike are you suggesting with a sequential gearbox I will get ahead and stay ahead?

If the other car is doing 165, where will I be ? Back in Saxo land.

Great minds. did you see my judd v10 mini?

  Forester Sti, SC Clio V6,

Er - no I was kinda suggesting that there isnt a circuit in the country that youll do that on nor are you gonna break 135 at the pod. So unless you intend to road race at speeds in excess of 135 against something you may as well max the accelleration and in gear times.

Believe me every day you will beat something away from zero or on an overtake - very very rarely will you need to travel faster than 135 mph - if you must just space the first five well and go fo an overdrive ratio in line with current top.

Spending loada money on an extra 5mph top speed is fools gold - time your doing the extra Id have turned off at the next junction!!!!
