Valver limiter..



  Renault Clio 1.8 16v
Curious. My valver revs to just over 7000rpm and as far as I know its had nothin done to ecu etc. Do most rev this high? May be a silly one, so early apologies.

ah ok. So when cams are fitted does the power come in at different points. I.e higher or lower in the band. I know it sounds stupid, was just under the impression that cams gave more top end, and that rev range increases as result.
 
Wilder cams, depending on design will increase peak power and push the point of peak power higher up. However going too wild will make your car on average slower as you will have less area under the curve to play with.

Just plonking in cams on a 1.8 does very little bar make it more peaky.
