viper cleaning

  Clio 172 Cup

just installed my viper the other day. But i was wondering if any of you got the little yellow cleaning spray with it? Not sure what to do with this? Anyone know what its for? Please dont tell me your meant to spray it inside the filter before you fit it?!?!?!?

You were meant to spray it inside the filter before fitting it!!! The foam wont do much filtering of small particles without the oil to catch the particles in.

Its not for cleaning it, thats "dirt retention spray" apparently, you are meant to give the filter element a quick coat of it before you fitted it...

Just pull the cold air feed of the front end and coat the foam on that side with the spray. Dont do the foam at the inlet side.

oooops!!!! LOL. Job for tonight!!! Not that bad, just need to undo 1 jubille clip. But that can be a tough job itself....bloody hate those things, too fiddly. Although i seem to manage fine fitting new sidelights, so i must be quite skillfull!

No, just an even layer, so its just a bit oily to the touch, if you put you hand on it and it comes away covered in loads of oil - thats too much.

I phoned PiperX and asked how much to use and they said spray for 1 SECOND!!....it does come out fairly quick.

as for cleaning they also said every 24,000 miles and they do a cleaning kit.
