Vista Problem: Disk Boot Failure

i have this problem on one of my pcs at home on startup

Disk Boot Failure Insert System Disk Press Enter

its a hp desktop running vista

please help?

get hold of a linux boot disc so you can access all your files so you can back them up. then reinstall by the sound of it.

or you could try fixboot if you can get to the ms-dos screen
