Vpower

  My Legs
does any one know what octane vpower from shell is?

is there any point in filling in with this fuel? just thought that it would be better for my engine.

thanks

Wouldn't bother with a 1.2

If it's just the fact you want a decent fuel for your car, just make a habit of using normal Shell.

Don't know the answer to your question, but we put some v power in on sunday, and all I've noticed so far is the price difference and the fact that it's a trek to the shell garage...

so is the shell unleaded better than unleaded everywhere else ?

yeah its like 94.something a litre here, mucho £££

  Fiesta ST
Vpower is 99

Roughly 94p here as well. :)

Filled the Valver up twice now with the stuff. Not totally empty so only cost £35. Not too bad. Hard to say if I've noticed anything really, although she seems to run a bit smoother I must admit. MPG wise, hmm can't really tell as one week I may drive slow the other I may boot it around.

This is comparing it to regular Supermarket petrol :quiet: not regular Shell.

IMO it with BP Super stuff, is the only fuel you should consider.

I can't honest say there is a performance increase, but as said earlier it runs smoother than before.

You wouldn't notice the difference between Vpower and normal Shell on most cars.

I use normal Shell diesel in my car, can't tell the difference between that and BP ultimate (apart from 10p a litre), but compare either to Texaco for example and there is definately a difference (probably not peak power) but idle for example with Texaco is very choppy in the cold.

  Mreg 1.8 16v naples red
ive used it for a week. and used sainsburrys for a week. i havent noticed anything at all. not even a little teeny wincy bit. stick to carrot juice unless u got a supercar

  AMV8, Mk1 Golf
i put vpower in my 1.2 once, cost well loads more and made no dce at all, but its all i will put in the 172

  Mk1 MX-5 next summer
there was a feature on it on one of the car tv progs.

the higher performance the car, the better job that it does. sooo no it prob wont do anything.

but as someone said, just stay away from tescos etc lol

  a thirsty one
only had the 182 for a month or so and first 2 fill ups used a 99 ron tesco super and this tank have now tried v power, mpg seems same only diff is i think the kick is a little higher in the rev range with the v power than the tesco stuff. i think as long as you use a good fuel they are all pretty much the same for road use, all down to personal prefference and conveniance really.
