VW owner :(

Hi all, I'm a VW man at heart but always have wanted a Mk1 16V... just so happens that my Dad has heard of one for sale! Red, K plate, 90k on the clock with shedloads of history, no MOT or tax, great bodywork bar a scratch on the bonnet and a slightly wonky front bumper and a stainless exhaust.

Not cheap, but I have to say, I'm tempted! Things I noticed on the test drive though, oil pressure and temperature gauges weren't working. Cant imagine it would be much work to fix.

Anyway, I hope to show pictures once I've made my mind up lol

Indeed! Unfortunately never owned one, however I do have an early Mk2 (1984) GTI with a 1.8 turbo, good fun on the twisties but I was trying to be too much of a scene ***** with 14x7s and the lowest setting the Weitecs would allow! Started to not enjoy driving it watching for potholes all the time so when the turbo went I wasn't too disappointed! Just fancy something chuckable again so this valver will fit the bill I reckon!
