I was in a mates house for 10 mins, YES.. 10 mins. I come back out to my car to find the window smashed, stereo gone, all the CDs gone from the glovebox and my mp3 player (£250 worth)..... f**king w**kers even left the damn screwdriver they used to smash the window... Police couldn't find any prints tho :\ useless tw*ts

Same thing happened to me in my last car, didn't even leave it 5 minutes! Came back to see them driving off in some shitty old fiesta, some women got their reg, told the police, but they wouldn't do anything!

What is the standard alarm like on the 172's cos on my previous car i had one of those walk within 50 cm of the car and the alarm sounds and i get paged but i have only had the clio 6 weeks and didnt want that kind of hassle..... is the standard alarm any good??? surely if someone opened the door or smashed a window it would go off? :dapprove:

1 good thing, i had a highly modded saxo for 6 years and it was not robbed once..... but the alarm was annoying.

Agreed a Disklok steering wheel lock is well worth the money.

The amount of noise and time it takes to get one off is worth it.

Always put it on though, never leave it on back seat. Thieves will actually pinch it and in their own time and comfort, drill out the lock and use a padlock to secure it in their own car. Then any other passing car theif, glances and sees their car fitted with an apparent secure disklok and drives on.

Yeah good advice, massive visual deterrent & like said take ages to destroy/get off.

Get some more security lights up & a cheap CCTV set if you have to, I know its not the point but what can you do.

Personally if I caught them, they've be chewing 206 windscreen for the rest of their days

It's all well and good saying what you would do if you caught someone breaking into your car on here, but I'm sure when it happens to you, try doing a big man bravado act you'll most likely get laid out or maybe a nice blade sticking out of your neck. These scumbags will do anything to get what they need and won't think twice about doin you over.

As someone said its a piece of metal, albeit expensive metal!

Dont really see much point in reporting it to be honest, i have a lot of respect for the fuzz, (well more so than most on here) but they are hardly quick on the scene when a car is actually pinched or broken into, all they will do, if you are lucky, is send a car round the block once or twice, be a huge coincidence if the criminals were there at that precise time.

If you are unlucky enough to have it stolen/broken into they will take details, give you a crime reference number and say 'theres not much we can do im afraid, we have the cars details and if we discover anything we'll be in touch'

They may, if it has been broken into, take fingerprints, like they did with mine, unfortunately that was 8 days after the crime and after i had 4 or 5 different people in the car, how do they knows which print is a burglars?

Car theft/car vandalism is viewed by police as petty crime and therefore is not high on their list of proirities.

A few months ago i heard a smash, went out for a look and theres the pensioner of a neighbour standing next to his car arguing with some drunk/high on drugs twenty-something male. i think, hmmm whats going on here.

Challenging these scumbags is a personal choice and if you have second thoughts dont bother, personally i see it as an excuse to try out the trusty right hook but that doesnt mean its right.

Maybe they were looking for a joy ride, thats the problem with having a fast car. I always thought clios arent what car criminals go for. Golf GTIs, Civic Type Rs, Focus STs, Imprezas etc are the 1s that seem to be the choice. The guy that does all my I.T stuff lives in Bury (North Manchester) he had a CTR and was followed home 1 night, all of a sudden 3 guys with knifes got out and took it off him, he is a fireman pretty big guy but there nothing he could have done. Glad nothing happened Taylor.

It's impossible to steal a 1*2 without the keys.

The only way to remove the car from it's location would be roll it away onto a trailer.

They won't simply drive off with it.

I know people that have had cars removed from garages, only keeps it from "chancers" sight but if a gang is organised enough they know it's in there!

1. My old car (MK1 1.4RT) was broken into one night whilst i was parked in a car park near my mates flat. made a right mess of the door lock. They didn't take anything at all so they must have been disturbed. Everything i had in my boot was scattered accross the car park and the door was just open.

2. Parked round the back on a side street near my work one night...came back to the car after my shift to find that both tyres on the passenger side had been slashed.

3. after the tyre slashing incident i started parking outside my mates, uncles house which meant i had to walk an extra 10mins to get to work but i thought it was worth it...Untill i came back one night after finishing and this time the car had been keyed all the way down the drivers side from boot to bonnet near enough.

In the end the car was written off by a taxi driver going into the side of my car on the m'way. didn't really have any look with that car. was obviously his fault but still in the process of sortin insurance out.



Why do people have to ruin other peoples things. TW*TS all ov em. If i could get my hands on any of the three responsible for the listed above i dont think id be able to stop myself doing some extreme damage to them!!!
