Washing cars, on a street, without a water supply.

  Not a 320d
Secured a new job and Im moving into a house share soon. Its likely Ill spend my weekends having sex with my GF, but for those rare occasions Id like to spend some time with the car.

Im thinking of giving ONR a go. I dont touch nano sealants as much anymore except for C5 or G1. So I could always wash with that and then wipe down after with a Carnuba based detailing spray.

Alternativly theres the local jet wash but I might have to fight off the chavs in the Astras and Imprezas ive seen belting about the city streets.

Any other ideas aside from let it rot in its own filth?

Aye, don't want to be mixing it with the Astras when you're in your 135...

Daren't get one now, the place Im living is a right s**t hole.

Proper housing estate, the houses are joined up together like a f**king paper chain. I will also have to park on the street like a f**king peasant.

If your so high and mighty why don't you not live in a s**t hole ? Jesus christ, take a look at this post again, or even thread, there's a contradictory statement in every sentence.

What's wrong with the Clio Jay?

Toby, I have a system to wash my car outside my house, I have a tap out the back, and then I have "clean hose" that I keep in the house, the clean hose attaches to the back tap, runs through the house to the front garden where it plugs into the outside hose reel.

Then I can just wash my car like normal

My kitchen is at the back of the house, so it actually comes off of the outside tap, through the kitchen window, straight through to the front door where it plugs into the hose reel I keep out the front.

Find a local pressure washer at a petrol station, Tobias. That's what I now do. Spray Citrus Power, spray, drive off.

Thats not a bad idea actually. Though it needs a good sort out for citrus power to work. Z8 is the only thing providing any sort of protection...

Watch the weather forecast and when you see that its going to rain, pour some maguairs shampoo over the car about half an hour before, obviously while its still raining grab the old wash mitt or similar and wash the car until clean, making sure its still raining acting like a rinsing technique.

Have a cuppa tea/coffee untill the rain has stopped fully, quickly get in the car and drive to the local train station parking it on the walkway (dont cross the yellow line) Park there while listening to elton john/franky valley untill atleast 2-3 intercitys 125's have plowed past.

At this point, quickly do a three point turn minding you dont squash margaret against the vender, park facing the other way, again leave the motor in this very spot until another 2-3 intercity 125's have shot past, get out, put some tyre gel on, job done!

Hth.

It doesn't sound like the best move to be making TBH!

hold out for a better job that doesn't require you to live in the ghetto, then you can have your M135i, 335d etc

Any willy waving in here yet?

Space for >3 cars + garage here ;)

secure underground garage with space for 25 cars :rasp:

with running water and electricity!

best bit is, 15 of those spaces are empty, and of the 10 in use, 2 are my cars, and access is by security key only!

My method is the pre wash with VP citrus pre wash via pump sprayer, wash with mitt then rinse with 2 watering cans , do the wheels last with the remainder of my wash bucket and use the last of the water to rinse. Not ideal but it does me. If its really dirty / salty then use the local pressure washer for £1 for 3 mins.

I have tried ONR on 2 occasions but I can't really get on with it , I don't like drying my car anyway so its a pain having to do it with ONR, plus I don't like the lack of suds , irrelevant I know but its like washing the Clio in standard issue water.

Gti Golf now. Dont recall wanting a 335d. Dont like the looks of the M135 anymore, your photos the other day put me right off, plus insurance is bonkers..... costs more to insure an M135 than it does an E92 M3.
