Mk1 172 is about 1035kg

The Phase II R5 GT Turbo weighs 830kg, the Phase I was marginally lighter, but not by much.

A mk1 172 weighs 1035kg apparently...

Kerb vehicle weight
1035 kgs

Gross vehicle weight
1490 kgs

ClioSport weighbridge tested vehicle weight
1093 kgs (with alloy bonnet)
1100 kgs (without alloy bonnet)
These measurements were taken from a car with a full tank of fuel and do not include the driver
Its the "kerb weight" we were after, which is 1035kgs...

Thats what manufacturers quote and when people talk about the weight of a vehicle, this is what they mean.

To compare:

mk2 172 = 1110kg
Cup 172 = 1021kg
