What is an 'RV'???

My local garage has had a look at the steering on my Clio RT, been advised that it'll fail its MOT if I don't get it done.

There's about 2" of play in the steering before the wheels turn. Been told that its the 'RV' in the steering column. Initially they advised that this part could only be bought with the whole column but they'd try and get just that part.

They are a very honest lot so I believe them when they say that. Anyway, phoned today and the guy there has managed to get just that part in for me.

Anyone able to tell me what the hell that part actually is???? lol

RV or CV? Cv would make sence as its a conmmon fault.

Just get them to weld up the rack at the bottom its a common faiure and welding the common easy cheap fix.

Yep its not a RV though. No idea what there refering to.
