what sort of ICE set up to rock

hey. ive just started getting bits for my clio, well line things up to order. i wanted to ask what sort of kit would be best for rock music? some componets and a set of 6x9s?

That depends how much you are looking to spend. You need something punchy for rock music.

A good set of components for the front and some coaxials for the rear all amped up will sound nice and tight. Go for a decent set of 6.5" components or some 8" coaxials in the rear if you arent going to be using a sub. They will sound better than a set of 6x9s ever will.

If you are planning on running a sub then go for an 8" or 10" (possibly 2 if you have the funds) running off another amp.

yeah sure mate get 6x9s and components..you will have a nice stereo

however you cannot beat a good set of "amped" comps and a sub...trust me..ive went the cheap way and then upgraded...

dont get 6x9s, ive just sold them..they were good without the sub....but omg subs are like...good!

yeah i was thinking of a twin 10". but depends on how much i end up shelling out for my new head unit. any suggestions of some good components for under 150 quid?

5 inch (13cm) Reference Series 2 way component speaker kit, clear crossovers with 3 tweeter level settings, 19mm Titanium dome tweeters, power handling 100W, crossover frequency 2500Hz

Or a set of Audiobahn Aluminium cone ABC525Qs for £130 reduced from £200.

If you dont mind going down the second hand route then a set of boston or focals could be yours for that price if you can find someone thats selling a pair.

get some ampd components and then a 10" sub, you will be impressed. I ran that setup for 2 years before upgrading. Dont bother with rear speakers at all, they are only there for fill really. If you can afford some (and I dont know the prices) try some Focal components cos they just get better and better the longer you have them. My old ones took about a year to finally stop getting better and louder!
