What to donew or old

  Fiesta ST

what ya reckon?? buy a new car and have the warranty or go for old and have no warranty?? is it worth the risk?? either new 182 or old 172

well you can get a new 182 from £11899 - £12399 or you could get a 1 year old 182 for about £10500. Then a 172 would be about £7500 i think for a half decent one.

Lets ignore the powerhike for now as its not too important because if you want the power you can have it through modding. So what do you get?

Cup Spoilers and Suspension with anthracite wheels - spoilers look way better and those wheels are a must compared to the "slightly bigger than a dynamique" look wheels from the 172.

Exhaust - I dont really have a preference on this but if i had to take it or leave it id probably want it. Im guessing itll get a nicer sound too because the pipes aim back instead of down.

Its a new car - obviosly the new factor here is a big player. with a 182 you could have a totally new car that no ones ever been inside of.

So id say that youre paying an extra £4000 for these 3/4 main luxurys and to be honest its not really worth it but its close so id go for a 182.

Yea cheers, i am kinda swinging towards a 182 because knowing my luck if i get a oldish one it will go bang, i fancy one of the inferno 182s....awesome

Personally in my view thes 3 choice a Mk1 172 for £5~6k with 50k private sale. A Mk2 52~53 plate with about 36k for £7~8k and a new 182 for £12k from drive the deal like places.

It all depends what your looking for. A new car will cost the most in depreciation in say 2 yrs (assume you own all 3 cars 2 yrs).

A 182 will costs say £5k

A Mk1 172 will cost £2k

A Mk2 will cost £3~4k

Persoannly Id only look at a Mk1 or a 182 a Mk1 will say at worse cost an extra £1.5~2k in servicing and repairs (the 72k one is a big service) so its £3.5k cheaper. Thats a lot of money for a new car particualy if your not doing a load of miles in it. Ok the 182 might be quicker but £700 worth or coilover will easily out perform a 182 round the bends and youll be just as quick realy in the straight difference will be down to drivers on the straigths.

Dont forget that the older cars have there advantages of a proper spare (something I value highly as a spare has to go in the boot loosing you some space) ans also the electrica are simplier as they dont have UCHs.
