So it's been a few years since I've had a cliosport but due to buying a house my ST3 left today and I'm going to look at a BG 182 tomorrow. What should I look out for other than the usual things?
Not sure if much changed from the 172 to the 182, just bought my 172 and did a lot of research first. Here's what I found
:
1) make sure cambelt had been changed on schedule
2) check rear shocks, they fail regularly
3) check for water ingress in the boot
4) of its got headlamp washers check for leaks
5) check radiator, they don't last well
6) if airbag light is on have a fiddle with wires under passenger seat and it might sort it
7) check rear discs, there some form or wierd type with pressed bearings and cost more than most car
then its just the usual has it got history, rust, accident damage etc
Yep check for accident damage. Remove boot carpet, check all panel gaps etc. re the cambelt, check the paperwork to see where it was done as they require special tools and more a job for a specialist. Aside from that, usual service history check, tyres, brakes, number of owners. Take it for a test drive and check the gears for crunching, gearbox whining and so on.
