What's the best wax and car shampoo to use?

I joined last night after buying a 172 cup. Was just wondering what the best cleaning products are to buy so I can keep gleaming?

For someone new to getting into it I think the AF sampler kit is a great way to try new products.

All depends on how deep your pockets are. Shampoo I'd say AB Banana gloss is the best along with Britemax Cleanmax as for waxes it depends on budget AG HD is good value or for a bit more money zymol carbon & bouncers vanilla ice

I hate it when a newbie asks something about detailing products and people bombard them with abbreviations.

If hes new to it then how will he know what AB AG etc mean? Lol

I never understand what the abbreviations mean anyway, and I'm not even new!

AG = Auto Glym and AB = Autobrite

Not sure why AB = Autobrite as it's one word, anyway...

Meguires endurance tyre gel is always nice to finish off. I liked Poorboys nuttys paste wax. Easy to apply, cheap, gives a nice wet look and good for entry level car waxing with little effort.

You better keep that cup clean Veejay! I know where you live....

I like to use Deb car wash as they are a local company to me (from the poeple who make swarfega)

AutoGRIM HD wax once every month and then washed weekly with the car wash.
Also keep it dirt free with Traffic film remover (TFR from deb again) with defoaming agent its the same stuff as you put on with the foam lance but with no foam then wash with the carwash.

15 minutes a week keeps it looking nice

I'd second the maguires endurance Tyre gel. Also the maguires ultimate wax is excellent, it's easy to use and last for ages.

its the same stuff as you put on with the foam lance but with no foam then wash with the carwash.

TFR is unlikely to be wax safe, so you're effectively undoing all your waxing work every wash.

R1NE is awesome shampoo get onto reviews for that stuff. Proper detailers shampoo and different ratios can be used for different things ie shampoo, snow foam, lube for your clay bar

I like poorboys tried maguires but it was like putting baby oil on the car had to wash it all off (maybe I did it wrong but i hated it.)
have also used carnauba wax which gives a really good shine but not cheap. Having said that a mate who has a gts3 uses a wax that cost £300 and I think you can pay more that that too!
