Cheers, I had a look at tts there, there wanting £1700 for the charger the pulley belt and oil.Tts will sell you a charger and oil system
I will sell you brackets
eBay for everything else
Yes i did look at there 230bhp low boost turbo conversion and clio turbo UK aswell but i just thought reliability, gearbox,What about Engine Dynamics?
Don't go to clioturbo.Yes i did look at there 230bhp low boost turbo conversion and clio turbo UK aswell but i just thought reliability, gearbox,
Clutch, turbo failing, overheating etc
And your thousands for fitting and setting up where as i was quoted £300 for the supercharger being fitted and was told it's alot less hassle apparently
This ^^£300 for fitting! By who? First job is a cambelt change
Swr autos in Stirling, garage deals with Renault sports£300 for fitting! By who? First job is a cambelt change
The first job is to change the lower pulley for one from a Megane, to do this you need to change the belts so that is £600.But then say a garage is roughly £50 an hour labour,
Could they not fit a supercharger in 6hrs if they know what there doing
Apparently there just bolt on?
But I'm not a mechanic so i honestly don't know
I enjoy the renaultsport clios tbh just want it a little quickerBuy a fast car.
Oh right it never said in the ktec fitting service the belts needed replaced! Ktec fit the charger for 800 quid the biggest outlay is the charger itself at 4k.The first job is to change the lower pulley for one from a Megane, to do this you need to change the belts so that is £600.
If you are on a budget this probably isn't the right option for you
Oh really Pirate.
Dead to me.
Oh Yogi - has it been worth it? Cost/reliability etc?
How much did it cost? I know things like this are never really finished, so just a ball park figure...
Megane with a diff?I enjoy the renaultsport clios tbh just want it a little quicker
You can screw more power out of a turbo.....right up until the block gives out.Does no one go down the supercharged route these days, a few years ago this was all the rage, its seems to be turbo charging these days, whats the reason?
Ahhh, so its about the potential for more power then, just seems strange s/c seemed to have dissapeared after all the conversions that were going ahead years ago, thought with the. "more reliability" they'd still be a popular choice.Megane with a diff?

Also, kids love a turbo. Blowers are superior though, @Cub. s one made me grin so hard I almost left a white puddle on the pass. seat
The only supercharged car I've been in was a standard cooper s, and that was a bit limp tbh, wouldn't mind trying a modded oneI prefer the whine of a blower TBH.
And that when you press GO, it goes...immediately
Thought they already had a kit that's been about for a few years?RST are developing a kit. It's being fitted and setup to a car now. Retains the AC too.
They have, just not a full kit that retains the AC etc.Thought they already had a kit that's been about for a few years?
Most kits seem around £4-5k nowadays. The cost of the rotrex is the main issue i would assume, its £1600 and not a serviceable item. If you are handy with spanners you can turbo a clio (with the EFI module) yourself for a few hundred £ more than the cost of just the rotrex
@Christopher do you know the cost of the supercharger kit from EngineDynamics...........even the non AC kit
From the pictures I've seen of the kit fitted, it looks like that one, yeah.Is it this one ?
