Whining at low speeds

Not all the time but sometimes I hear a whine which sounds like its coming from the wheels. I need new discs and pads but it sometimes happens when I'm just driving not breaking. Any idea what it could be? I'm thinking the driveshaft may be a link.

Whine or grind? To me a whine is a dry box. A grind is a dry/fucked cv joint.

It's not really a grinding noise but I can feel it through the steering wheel sometimes. Last night it was doing it then I parked up for 30 mins and it was fine after that.
