Thats out of a cat, recently happened to my mums mondeo shed, when I saw it I thought someone had stuffed a wig
in the exhaust and it had blown out, but I asked my cousin as he buys and sells shed cars and he assured me it was from the cat.

Edit. It's apparently exhaust baffle stuff, not from the cat, as I was typing my cousin showed up and has now put me straight.

o, so alot of people know then. :S
i drove about 3 miles from the garage and heard a noise, looked in the rear view mirror and saw white smoke with something about 12 foot long flying around. matey in the clio was pissing himself.

i bought/had fitted a cat back system for it, so it came out of the back box, weirdly it hasnt got any louder!

bought a brand new mild steel centre box and pipe for my megane, fitted it the next week, started it up the monring after i fitted it and it had white fluffy stuff coming out of it!

wasent best pleased but thats the only time its happened to me

I've only know it happen to sheds but as a few of you have found out, it obviously happens to new exhausts aswell.

Can't say I had a problem when my SS system went on, but then mine is loud as f*ck so i'm guessing that it doesn't
have much in the way of baffles.

Take it back, get a replacement.

I put a stainless exhaust on my Zetec S, then when I put the standard one back on the day the new owner was due to pick it up, this stuff started flying out the tailpipe! Not ideal at all!

its not the cat thats made of ceramic or metal that is the baffles/sound deadning/wadding out of the silencer
