Will a 172 fake floor fit a regular 1.2 clio

Why would anyone remove the rear seats then fit a wooden structure in the rear? Surely the whole point of removing the rear seats is to loose excess weight? Unless I'm missing something

To make it look pretty of course. Fitting a big chunk of mdf and carpet is obviously going to weigh a f**k tonne more than the seat but not everyone who does a 'rear seat delete' is chasing lap times or trying to pass a porsche on a track day.
A flocked balsa wood floor would be the perfect false floor imo. But to answer the op's question yes the internal dims of a clio stay the same.

Isn't it only the 182 (V6 excluded here) that's different with it not having a wheel well at the back for a spare?

Other than that, the floorplan is identical and as you say should fit anything across the range.
