windows 98 product/0em code help

i want to reboot my windows 98 byt i have not got a code with the cd and the cd is brand new what should i do ?? its came with my comp and never been opend and there not code at all ??

Not wishing to sound derogatory, but why on earth would you wish to use Windows 98, when both Windows XP and 2000 (and soon Vista) are so freely available, and are much better OS.

i think what you are saying is that you want to reinstall the win 98 that came with your computer when you originally purchased it.

If thats the case then the code is on the oem sticker somewhere on your pc, if you haven't got that sticker then technically you aren't licensed so it should be stuck somewhere on it.

If not then i can't remember that 98 oem needed a copde anyway, the old oem disks just installed AFAIK?

give it a try or ook for the sticker.

no stickers any where i got an old comp that cant run xp hence y i needed 98 but thanks for the advice

depending on the version of 98, i think using all the number '1's or '0's works.

google a key if you need one. make sure you have your spyware and antivirus switched on and dont download anything onto your computer to "gain access" to the key you'll always find a site which doesnt require this.

or goto www.ubuntu.com and download the latest version and bin windows!

In 98 the key is stored in the registry in plain text.
