windows movie maker

right i want to edit my dvd i got from the ring but when i go to open the cd in movie maker i click on the dvd sign it has two files i open them and theres nothing there to open in to the movie maker do i need some sort of converter ?

VOB and VTS files by any chance one for audio and one for video??
don't think it can be edited in moviemaker.
You might need to rip the DVD to your hard drive first.
Try a free download like handbrake or something
