Windows update

My windows XP has just updated itself, now i have things popping up saying i dont have genuine version of windows, which is annoying. any idea how i get rid of these?

Everyones (who has a copy! lol) is getting this now... It was in the latest set of updates. It just means you'll no longer be able to get updates. Should still work fine.

Then turn off the updates!! Before it does it again.

It's the only way to get rid of the errors.

I read on some news site that they allow security updates still, tho.. as everyone who had paid, are more vunerable if there are loads of Windows boxes with no updates. Heh.

there are various cracks to remove this recent bill gates addition.
you can turn off automatic updates so xp wont update it self without your permission.

there was a java code that you could just type into IE address bar but bill found out about this 1 too......

so i suggest google mate and search for a crack......and just turn off the updates for now.

and also as well when xp gets the list of updates go into advance and simply uncheck the update named Genuin..??? and it wont install that..

Microsoft are always trying new things but there are people out there that can f**k it up in minutes.

Im pretty sure there isnt a crack for xp with sp2 on it unless you have the pro version.

get a crack thing that lets you change your serious number... works for me, and just dont download the update again. There is a site where you can download all the updates from microsoft update, i will find the site and pm ya the link.. its safe, well.. for me it has been 8)

Mine's a *cough* copy, and I phoned up microslop after I got that popup thing. They gave me a new serial number lol

asked what my other serial was, then after she typed that in, she gave me a new one. Mine's a copy of xp pro for a hp pc. Bought it from ebay ages ago for £2 lol bargain

When the windows update box comes up , read what the updates are . If you have a dodgy copy of xp uncheck the box for windows genuine advantage verification , nice way of wording " checking for illegal copy " , lol .

If you've already installed it you might be fcuked . I just use a litlle program for changing the serial number which has always allowed me to download the updates i want
