Windows Vista

Needing some help with vista.

My laptop is away for repair at the moment do I'm using my partners one that's running windows vista.
It's not been used in months so for the past hour I have updated the AVG, java, abobe and all the windows updates but for some reason I can't not log into any forums.

It done this to me last year and I need up just putting back in the drawer.

I can see the forum and I can type my user name and password and then it reappears wanting me to log in again and again and again and this happens with all forums.

I have also cleared all the history and cookies.

Anyone help in this matter ?

Check the system time/date is all correct? Timezone too..
