Wireless Modem Strength

My old man has just bought himself a new laptop .

Got it wireless,which is fine if he's in the same room as the modem but as soon as he takes it anywhere else in the house he loses signal .

Any thoughts ? never had this problem before personally .

sounds like a crappy modem, but you could try changing the channel that the modem is using as it could be getting messed up by other appliances using similar frequency.

If that doesnt work you might need to look at getting a wireless access point to boost signal.
