Wiring a rev counter to DIS unit (Mk1 Ph3)

Well, the rev counter might still not working without being converted - depends on the signal the eDis gives out.. as to whether or not the standard rev counter will work.

You can get the rev counter converted though (send the whole clocks away) - and then you wire it up, and adjust it so it reads right. They basically just rip the clocks apart and replace the rev counter electrics with a seperate unit but leave the front the same.

Ah the very man!

Yep i know the clocks will need altered its just how that i need to know. I assume the wiring harness is all there so i can just plug them in and its the signal that needs altered? Do you know where would be able to do this or alternatively, is there any other mk1 clocks that would work first time with the DIS unit?

Well, you have to run a new cable to the eDis module - don't use an existing one. The converted rev counter has it's own wire.

I looked at some photo's and noticed the 1.2 RN had a rev counter. I think it was standard but not 100%.
The Mk1, Phase3 RN had the 1.2 DIET engine too, so, my guess, is those dials are more likely to work out of the box than any other.

I'd definetly be trying RN dials - beecause getting rev counter converted, running cable, etc.. is far more hassle.

Well, no harm in trying.. The Oil level might not work cus' it'll need a sensor, but if the RN *did* have a rev counter, I don't see any logical reason for it not working. If it doesn't, then it's very weird.
