wiring help needed

currently in the middle of doin my boot up and wanted to add a little neon in there so i bought 1 and it came today, only first of all its got wires comin out of both ends of the tube which i dont know what to do with them :S and the second i dont know is which you can, if at all, connect them to ? either the sub or amp ? any help appreciated

When I wired up my boot with neons on my first car years ago, I used the boot coutosy light wiring, cut the bulb off that and use the positive feed and negative feed from that. It also means the neons come on when the boot is opened. For that I used a computer neon though becuase its also 12v.

make sure the neon is a 12v first, chances are it will be.

as above use the boot light as a feed. you dont have to get rid of that though, you can just junction off it. quite simple to do

if you in any doubt then seek professional advice, but as a quick test you can always hook up a 12v supply to the neon before chopping any wires on the car.

thanks guys, i managed to wire it up to the amp now, but its on constantly so i went out n bought a switch from halfrauds but dont know how to fit it and cba waitin for ma mate to finish work so any1 got any info on how to connect it though the switch ? the switch is http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/..._productId_189042_langId_-1_categoryId_124502

to be honest connecting it to the amp isnt the best place to put it. yeah it may work but its not ideal.

fitting the switch is easy. just have to put it inline on the power cable. should be fused seperate to the amp too.

where would u advise to connect it 2 ? i tryed to the amp but it kept blowin the fuse so in the the end i connected it to my boot light so when i open my boot it comes on. i really want it to b on a switch tho so any more tips ?
