We reckon so :(

Djw Daves gf was sitting in a queue at some traffic lights waiting to go on to a roundabout the other day and a Suzuki Jimny came round the corner complelty out of control and hit her. Luckily the car took all the damage and other than getting a big fright she is fine.

Reckon the chances of insurance fixing it are very very slim

in my opinion, it wouldnt cost too much to fix up!! im currently fixing up mk2 clio with similar damage, only the door needed replacing. got the fron wing for like 20 quid, door for 75(rip off) and a few other things. the post needed knocking out a bit also, but knew someone to do it

where abouts you from? im in central scotland and have loads of numbers of scrappys that would have plenty of spares, its whether you can repair it yorself though

Yeah wouldnt cost much with 2nd hand parts but the inusrance go for brand new parts. That and we dont know hos much damdage teh suspension etc took as the car hit the wheel directly. Doubt its even worth buying it back

  Lots of Alfas
Yup I agree, thats a write off :( . As for the Suzuki Jimny my gf has one and the handling is absolutly dreadful :S , in 2WD mode they are rear wheel driven and with the short wheelbase, tall height and bouncy suspension Im not suprised someone lost control of one. Was it wet by any chance? (still there pretty impressive off road!).

Central Scotland and we've been to all the scrappies at one time or another! We could fix it ourselves but whats the point! Its not like shes gonna loose out on a big wad of cash. Theres quite a few other bodywork issues as well craig

Daves mum used to have one and it was easilty teh worst handling car Ive ever driven!! For the reasons you say but her one was also auto! I was once going round a roundabout and accelrated gently, it dropped a gear and did a huge slide that thankfuly I had the time and space to catch! This guy didnt. And it was dry but had been raining overnight

Thanks for the concern folks.
Kenny, just waiting to go onto Newbridge roundabout towards Edinburgh. Happened Tuesday morning.

Pete, what a nice guy you are, Im glad that you've always had the money to get exactly what you want in life. Unfortunatly not all of us do, some of us are even in debt! I know I know, it really is shocking but anyway back to the case in point, she was attached to the car, it being her first it seems pretty natural to be. But oh well, maybe something else soon, be good if its the next car is as realible as this one was.

sorry m8,but she'll be able to get another one, especially as you must have picked up a bit of clio knowlege.hey dude sometimes a change is as good as a rest.
at least she didn't get hit by an uninsured driver. all im trying to say is she's alright and that what matters.
And on the sudject of having money i'm not minted by a long way to get what i want i had to work my socks of mate e.g. work long hours, sell crack, pimp my mum and even myself.prehaps that was going a bit far but i've never been spoilt if thats what you were gettin at.

Writeoff but you've slipped letting the insurance get hold of it.

Had it'd have been me i'd have stuck a s/h wing, indicator and door on then punted it up to the auction to flog it. Would maybe have got 300quid unless you're getting more via insurance?

Was wondering who would spot it first! It was a convertible one as well!

Dougal, I know where your coming from but a direct hit to the wheel is gonna screw up a load of things surely! And yeah there was no time to do anything else!
