WRX Hawkeye Wagon

So going on from this thread:-
http://www.cliosport.net/threads/subaru-impreza-wrx-wagons.777702/

Picked it up today and I absolutly love it, it's just so effortless to realise how quick your going. It's been a long time since I've had to glance at my speeds to keep myself on the right side of the law. A few more pics anyway:-

Pics aren't great but you get the idea anyway. Going from the other thread I found this up for sale a while back and after a few discussions with the prevous owner we agreed a price and a pretty good price at that with a few surprises thrown in like prodrive and the touch screen display with built in Nav. Happy days, honestly don't think I could of bought a better car for the money. Its perfect for me, my partner and our dog.

Mods wise, nothing. Im just going to keep it nice and clean and keep ontop of the services, I don't think it needs anything well not yet anyway. I'm happy at 270bhp.

Few little jobs to do like the headlights are all misted up and I don't think they will polish up as it looks to be on the inside, tyres aren't the best brand but that can wait and a general tidy up. Cambelt changed recently aswell. If anyone spots anything out of place in the pics, please say.

Engine bay plastics need a wipe over...

In all seriousness, you got a great deal and it looks lovely! Nice interior too.

Never knew how much servicing would cost on these just been quoted £350 and that's from a local specialist. Tempted to do a self service.

Also found out the Prodrive kit was fitted by a Subaru dealer in Oct 2006 and they will send me a new certificate for it, they are great to deal with.

Brake pads what are good for normal road use, Pagid ones from ECP? Pretty cheap at the minute.

Seen Pagid recommended on here a few times.

Got a big service booked in next week so to save me the hassle of messing about I may aswell pass the parts onto them.

Lol I'm not shelling out £100+ on front pads when I hardly use the thing. If I used it properly I'd look at a better compound. For the price of the Pagids I'll see how they go, got to better than what's in at the minute.

Just ordered them from carparts4less for £50 front & rear they are worth a go, as I say at the minute it's terrible.

It's going to GroupBmotorsport for a service next week so I'll ask them to put those in as they do a fluid change aswell it should feel good when I get it back.

Won't be long before its up for sale. Lol

Tbh brakes on imprezas never inspired me tbh unless large monies is involved. Christ I sold a set of big brake calipers (ksport or similar) discs and pads for good money and I didn't rate them atall

Cars in at GroupBmotorsport today, just had a phone call car has a few problems. Big bill coming my way.

My idea of making a profit is looking very slim now.

Oh s**t, what's the problem? 😧

Went in for its service the normal fluids & filters plus a Cambelt. Also needs the aux belt, tensioners, pully's etc. Front drop links, discs all round, tracking & balancing.

Air con will need doing at some point aswell.

Looking about £800-900 all in. Time to sell up and get something else I think.

Discs and drop links you could do yourself? Discs from George on here, wouldn't be too expensive? Ya can't get rid, you've only just bought it

I'd stick with it, half the cars been replaced!

I usually do items like that myself but things at home are manic at the minute and every weekend I have is tied up so not much choice really. Suppose it looks good on the invoice anyway.

I'll give you a shout when the time comes.

That list is just maintenence so will/would need doing anyway. Might be worth a second opinion on discs/pads etc. Just get the essential bits done and take it from there.

Why does it need a cambelt, your original post says it's had the belt done?

If you were to sell with a list of jobs like that needing to be done, you'd lose £1k off the price so either way it's costing you money.

Cambelt was due next year so I thought I'd get it done, I don't know who the previous garage was and I'd much rather trust a specialist so for peace of mind may aswell sort it now.

Also looks good to any potential buyers.

Well they had a big ordeal with my car today, they had it until 19:30! Pretty much had it for 11hours.

I was told it would be finished at 4pm When it came to handing over the car at 6pm the radiator broke, handy. So they went to take one off another car for me, only to find none of them fitted. Lovely. So in the end I said I wasn't happy and it was thier job to correct as it was all working and drivable when I brought it in. After phoning a few people they sourced a brand new rad and had it fitted all free of charge of course.

Bill ended up coming to £947!! I was expecting around £800 or at least that's what I was told on the phone eariler in the day.

So would I go back, yes I think I would. Yeah they are expensive at £69 per hour but they are very helpful. Pretty much what happened today was out of their hands and control. Anyway car feels brilliant and I'm keeping it for a while longer, I'm up in North yorkshire in it at the minute and had a good drive up.

Calculated my MPG - 30. So not to bad.

Anyway decided I'm selling up, if anyone is interested. Nothing to do with the car or work But I've decided to go and do some further education so I need some funds.

Another £222 spent today at GroupB

Car is all ready to go, will put an advert up next week. Guy at GroupB who runs a Subaru group said its a nice car and should fetch £4k. If I want they will sell it for me and put it up in thier showroom. They would put it for up over £4k though so could take abit longer.
